EC Series

First in the world, we established anti-electrostatic charge specification series of non-stick or anti-corrosion use as Nippon Fusso "EC series."

The revolutionary bake type fluoropolymer coating with anti-electrostatic performance: "EC series" also features explosion prevention measure without compromising fluoropolymer's characteristics.

When operating anti explosion equipment, many people believe that static electricity will not occur because they are using metal devices. However, this belief could be wrong in some ways.
Take a look at your process. There may have insulation layer caused by sticking material to equipment. These are the real factor of static disasters.
Also, generation of oxides due to corrosion or roughening of surfaces can cause more static charges to occur.
The development concept for the "EC series" was to utilize fluoropolymer's excellent non-stick and anti-corrosion properties, while also preventing electrostatic charge.
Prevention of sticking to equipment, protection from corrosion and furthermore anti-electrostatic effect with fluoropolymer coating - EC series.


Safely monitored leakage resistance values

According to the "Static Electricity Safety Indices," from the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, under jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, leakage resistance values are regulated as "static charge size : small" for values under 108Ω, and "almost no static charge" for values under 106Ω. In other words, a product with leakage resistance value below 108Ω is considered as safe product for static charge prevention.
The "EC series" is controled to less than 107Ω as standard, with measured values between 104 and 106Ω.
In addition, all products with the EC series applied are measured on the actual items for leakage resistance, to confirm and guarantee that they meet our standards.

Conduction to volume direction

Using Nippon Fusso's original coating technology, the "EC series" has succeeded in allowing static electricity to escape in the film's volume (thickness) direction, even when it is generated in thick film specifications. This has eliminated the need for an interim insulation layer to create film thickness, and realizes safety which could not be reached with structures that let static electricity escape towards the surface direction.
This technology is utilized throughout the entire "EC series," including everything from thin film specifications for cleaning to thick film specifications for anti-corrosion, for safe use with any type.

* Applied voltage (charge) can cause conductive breakage of the film, creating a pin hole and allowing applied voltage to leak (conduct) to the metal substrate. This causes lower surface charge potential. Measurements are ceased at -25KV.


For surface direction conduction, high voltage application test demonstrate that there is actual conduction to the surface. Volume direction conduction is essential for safe use.
